Perla Trevizo

Perla Trevizo is the border reporter at the Arizona Daily Star. She has covered diversity, border and immigration stories for more than 10 years from about a dozen countries. She graduated with a bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin and earned a master in News Agency Journalism from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Spain. She is the recipient of national and state awards, including The American Society of News Editors Dori J. Maynard Award for Diversity in Journalism, the French-American Foundation Immigration Journalism Award, and co-recipient of a National Edward R. Murrow Award for news documentary.
