Roots in Motion is a dynamic, multi-day workshop inviting artists to explore body expression, cultural memory, rhythm, and collective creation through Colombian dance and physical theater. Blending traditional Colombian rhythms with contemporary movement, improvisation, mask work, and physical storytelling, this workshop creates space for experimentation, connection, and embodied cultural exchange. No prior experience with Colombian dance is required, just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to move.

About the Artist: Natalia Carrero is a Colombian performing artist with over ten years of experience in theater, dance, and circus. She has worked as an actress, director, and playwright, and is currently the director of a theater company in Pereira, Colombia, creating comedy, musicals, and dance works inspired by the Coffee Cultural Landscape. Her artistic focus centers on integrating dance and theater through improvisation and embodied expression, reclaiming Colombian cultural roots while sharing the country’s rich diversity through movement and performance.
